Alexander, William P. (William Prindle), 1881-1956

William Anderson Alexander (1889-1950) graduated from Georgia Tech in 1912 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he became a mathematics instructor and assistant football coach under John Heisman. In 1920, he became head football coach, a position he maintained until his retirement in 1944. Alexander is remembered for his numerous wins and for taking Georgia Tech to four bowl games. From the description of William Anderson Alexander Papers, 1718-1964 [bulk 1922-1958]....
